W and V

23rd Feb 2026

This week, we learned about the sounds w and v. We practiced saying each sound and noticing how our mouths move differently when we make them. The w sound is made by rounding our lips, while the v sound is made by gently placing our top teeth on our bottom lip and turning on our voice. We listened for these sounds in words, sorted pictures, and practiced writing words that begin with w and v. This helped us become better readers and writers as we learn to recognize and use these letter sounds correctly.
