P1 and Northern Lights
As part of our Arctic topic, the children explored the magical phenomenon of the Northern Lights by creating their own vibrant versions through art. They experimented with colour blending, movement, and light, using sweeping strokes and layered materials to capture the glowing skies of the Arctic. This hands-on activity sparked lots of curiosity and discussion about why the Northern Lights appear, where they can be seen, and what they might look like dancing across the night sky. The children showed fantastic creativity and focus, and their finished pieces beautifully reflected both their imagination and growing understanding of Arctic environments.
