As part of our learning on procedural writing, we began by following a set of instructions to make delicious chocolate pancakes. This helped us understand the importance of clear, step-by-step directions and using time connectives to keep everything in the correct order. After enjoying our tasty creations, we then had a go at writing our own instructions, thinking carefully about the ingredients, equipment, and method. It was a fun and engaging way to develop our writing skills, and definitely one of the most delicious literacy tasks we’ve had!
