May Altar

1st May 2020

Today is the First of May and marks the beginning of a special month marking the patroness of our school. If we had been in school every class would have been encouraged to set up and decorate their  own May Altar in honour of Our Lady. Perhaps this is something you will consider doing at home? If you haven't got access to a statue of our lady, you can print out a black and white picture to colour or better still draw your own!

It is traditional to say a prayer at the altar each day. If you currently say the family  rosary each evening with Fr Alexander it would be a great project for your children.

In school teh children would also be learning the traditional hymn "Bring flowers of the rarest." Encourage your children to listen to it and sing along.

Pictures of your May Altar can be emailed to kircubbin@downandconnor.org  for inclusion on the parish website and or to myself for inclusion on the  school website. Attached is one I received this morning from Ciarna in P7
