An important part of understanding text is being able visualise what is happening in a story. Children need to be able to identify important details from texts. P6 practised this skill of being an “illustrator” with an extract from our class novel- “Wonka”. During a Shared Reading session, they highlighted important details from an extract and brought these to life through some lovely illustrations. P6 then watched the extract on screen and compared and contrasted differences. We are almost ready for our first Literature Circle session!
