ABL in P2/3

24th Mar 2026

P2/3 have been extremely busy, having fun exploring our topic Birds, Bugs and Beasts through Activity Based Learning. The activities we have been enjoying are:

1. Woodlice Habitat Experiment - We went outside with magnifying glasses to look for woodlice and put them in a tray with a wet paper towel and a dry paper towel. Then we observed where the woodlice went, to see if they prefer dry or damp conditions. We then added nature materials e.g. bark, twigs and leaves. We observed where the woodlice went, to see if they prefer the light or darkness.

2. Making Caterpillar Fruit Kebabs: We used fruit to put on a skewer to make a caterpillar. We used green grapes for the body, a strawberry for the head and chocolate chips for the eyes. Afterwards we enjoyed eating our fruit.

3. Pic Collage of our favourite bugs: We learned to take screenshots of our favourite bugs and use them in the Pic Collage app. We changed the background, layout and inserted a fact about our chosen bug.

4. Art: We used different yellow and black art materials to create our own bees.
