P2/3 have been exploring our topic, Birds, Bugs and Beasts, through a range of tasks in Activity Based Learning:
1. Bird Beak Experiment - We used different beaks e.g. clothes pegs, spoons and straws to test how many ‘bugs’ we could lift in 30 seconds and put into our plastic cup tummy's.
2. Birds Nests - We melted chocolate and mixed with shredded wheat to make edible birds nests. We finished by putting some mini eggs into our birds nests.
3. Pic Collage app on the iPads - We learned how to look up images of our favourite birds on the iPad and screen shot our favourite images. We then created a Pic Collage using our pictures, edited the background and added some text about our favourite birds.
4. Art - We used a variety of materials e.g. feathers, card, pipe cleaners etc to make different birds and bugs e.g. ladybirds, spiders, caterpillars etc.
